I’ve been poorly with a winter virus for the best part of the last month, and having done little else but go to work, eat, go to bed, go to work, eat, etc. etc. for over twenty days in a row, I was absolutely desperate for some fresh air, so Dr B and I piled on the winter woollies and headed out into the freezing winter sunshine. It was a beautifully bright day, but it was also not far off the shortest day of the year so even though we’d set out before noon, by the time we sat down to eat our cheese and apple sandwiches in a graveyard, the shadows were long and the day was already fading. That’s the first photo. The second photo in the gallery below is that of Dr B striding up a hill because he wanted to be a silhouette against the brilliant sunshine…but what I really like about this photo is the lens flare to the left – it’s really there, I haven’t cheated with PicMonkey or anything like that. It’s a proper bit of lens flare!
